Plesk: First Login Walkthrough
Plesk is the control panel used on our Windows hosting and Windows VPS plans. If this is your first time using it, here's how to log in securely and find the tools you'll use most.
Logging in for the first time
- Open the Plesk URL from your welcome email — usually
https://your-server-ip:8443 - Your browser may warn about the certificate on first visit — this is normal on the default hostname, click through to proceed
- Enter the username and temporary password from your welcome email
- You'll be prompted to set a new password immediately — make it long and unique
Finding your way around
The left sidebar is your main navigation. Websites & Domains is where you'll spend most of your time — it lists every domain and subdomain on the account and lets you manage files, databases, mail and SSL for each one individually. Mail handles email account setup, and Files gives you a browser-based file manager if you don't want to use FTP.
Common first tasks
- Point your domain's nameservers to the ones listed in your welcome email
- Install a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate under SSL/TLS Certificates
- Create an FTP/database user if your developer needs one
- Set up a mailbox under Mail if you're using email at your domain
Two-factor authentication
We strongly recommend turning on two-factor authentication from My Profile → Security. It only takes a minute with an authenticator app and adds meaningful protection against password-guessing attacks on a public-facing panel.
